About Iron & Ember

We built the gym we wanted to train in.

No mirrors full of selfies, no machines nobody uses, no sales pitch at the door. Just heavy iron, honest coaching and people who cheer for your personal record louder than you do.

Our story

From a garage with two racks to the city’s strongest floor

Iron & Ember started in 2014 in a rented garage with two squat racks, one heater and six friends preparing for their first powerlifting meet. Word spread, the garage got crowded, and the waiting list got longer than the warm-up. Today the club is a 1,400 m² training floor with 14 coaches, but the rules have not changed: train with intent, help the person next to you, and put your plates away.

  • Founded by competitive powerlifters and physique athletes
  • Every coach holds a recognised strength and conditioning certification
  • Independent and member-owned culture, not a franchise

What we stand for

Four promises every coach and member signs up to.

01

Earn it, every rep

Progress is built on consistent, well-coached sessions, not shortcuts. We program for the long game and celebrate the boring weeks that make the big days possible.

02

Technique before weight

Coaches review your form on every main lift. Heavy is a reward for good movement, never a replacement for it.

03

Everyone belongs on the platform

First-timers, competitors, teenagers and grandparents train side by side. Respect is the only membership requirement we will never waive.

04

Recovery is training

Sleep, food and mobility are part of every plan. We teach members how to recover so they can keep coming back stronger for decades.

05

Leave the floor better

Plates racked, bars brushed, chalk swept. A clean floor is a safe floor, and every member and coach takes care of it together.

06

Coaching, not selling

Our coaches have no sales targets. They recommend the program, the sessions and the supplements you actually need, and nothing else.

Ten years under the bar

A few milestones from the garage to today.

Why members stay for years

The average Iron & Ember member has trained with us for more than three years.

“I walked in unable to do a single push-up. Three years later I deadlifted 150 kg at my first meet with half the club cheering. The coaching here is the real deal.”
Maya R.
Member since 2019
“Sara took me from never having posed to placing second in my first physique show. Every check-in was honest, detailed and kept me sane through peak week.”
Arash T.
Stage prep athlete
“The floor is perfect for heavy training: real platforms, calibrated plates and nobody curling in the squat rack. I added 60 kg to my total in a year.”
Daniel K.
Member since 2021
